I wasn't able to find anything showing how to remove the B-pillar s with pictures online so decided to put one together. This was done on a i 4dr different models may vary.

    Remove front and rear door sills. Lift up hard and out on the lower b-pillar trim panel Notice the rivets that you pulled the lower b-pillar over.

    I found it difficult to get the lower b-pillar back over these when I was putting it back together so I replaced them and put them in the lower b-pillar first and it snapped in no problem. Remove the expanding rivets at the bottom of the upper b-pillar. Pull down on upper b-pillar and it's free.

    Start at the rear of the seat to take the control module cover off B. Take the cover off. There are clips that are connected underneath the cover; make sure not to break them. There is a lug nut that keeps your seat belt in place, remove it. Fin Hope this helps anyone who needed a visual aid on how to remove their b-pillars. Exactly what I needed. I'm swapping out my B pillars right now.

    Here are some pictures of it just sitting in place, the main question I'm asking is, will I need a new pillar or just plugs?

    Sent from BimmerApp mobile app. I would suggest a new pillar. Looking at the one in the picture you posted it looks like the portion where the plugs are used to keep it in place are broken off. Someone may know a way to jerry rig it but I don't.
